Following the Indo-China border dispute, the Indian government has been cracking down on China one after another. Earlier, India had banned several Chinese apps, including TikTok. Now the central government has banned 118 other apps, including Pubji, the most popular mobile game among the youth.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, these mobile apps were a threat to India's sovereignty and integrity, defense of India, security of the state and public order.
The Indian government had earlier banned many apps in China, including TicketLock. In the end of June, India banned 59 mobile apps from China, including TickTalk, Halo. Later in late July, 47 more Chinese apps were banned.
